The Tire Industry Association has added coronavirus, COVID-19, resources page to its website, www.tireindustry.org, for use of TIA members and others as they navigate the impact of the health pandemic.

“TIA created this resources page in response to the high volume of questions we have been getting from members concerned about how new federal and state regulations impact them,” said TIA CEO Roy Littlefield. “We want to make it as easy as possible for our members to find the information they need to make proper decisions and follow applicable rules for their businesses, employees and communities.”

Included are links and documents from federal agencies like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and TIA benefit partners Federated Insurance and SESCO Management Consultants.

In addition to the federal resources, TIA has included a template with an accompanying document the industry can use to help identify employees of essential services. The Essential Service Travel Document is an easy and effective way to give every employee something in writing that identifies them as working for a company that provides an essential service to the transportation industry.

TIA also created a document identifying employees of tire dealers and retreaders as essential that can be used in conjunction with the Travel Document to satisfy most questions from local, state or federal authorities. In addition, the site includes links to pertinent state legislation and other resources.

“We will update the page as new documents and information become available on coronavirus-related legislation or protection guidelines,” Littlefield said. “I encourage everyone to share with us any governmental and business websites or online pages that would be of value to TIA members and the industry overall. Working together we will get through this crisis and be all the stronger because of it.”
